The Mission
Paros wants people to feel seen, useful, and grounded right where they are. I believe every person has something to offer, a skill, a hobby, a bit of time, etc. and that these small things are what hold communities together. Paros exists to help people find each other again. To make it easy to share what you love doing, lend what you have, and rely on the people around you. It’s about turning the place you live into a circle of trust, care, and exchange. In a world that often feels distant and rushed, I want to slow things down to remind people that being part of something local and real is enough. Paros is here to help people feel at home again, not by means of grand gestures, but through the simple act of showing up for one another.
The Challenge
Paros is here to solve the growing distance between people in this ever connected global world. Convenience has replaced connection, and most of what we use and consume comes from strangers and far away corporations. The problem is disconnection; Paros is here to help rebuild trust, warmth, and belonging in our lives.
The solution
Paros is a digital platform (app and web-based) that connects people in the same community by allowing them to offer, share, or rent skills, hobbies, services, and goods. It’s designed to strengthen local relationships and reduce reliance on distant corporations. Core Features: • Users register and list their skills, hobbies, services, or goods they are willing to share or rent. • Profiles can include availability, location, experience level, and ratings. • Users can browse available offerings nearby, filtered by category, distance, or type (service, skill, or goods). • Transparent review and rating system to encourage reliability and trust. • Ability to create interest groups (e.g., gardening, baking, carpentry) to foster shared learning and interaction. • Messaging system within the app to maintain privacy and clarity. • “Community Hero” recognition for users who actively contribute. • Encourages circular economy by reducing unnecessary purchases through sharing and renting locally.
